The short answer
The governing rule is the map, applied to every point on the route: the product is restricted in the seven states on the restricted list as of September 2026 (the state overview), and the law of the state where you are and possess the product is what applies — which means a product lawfully held in a permitted state becomes a different question the moment it crosses into a restricted one. The honest position, stated plainly
Three positions, in the order a traveler needs them. One: a route that stays inside permitted states, with the product in your possession and the map checked for the current date, is the situation the map describes — the legal status guide is the standing read, and the date on the map is the difference between a fact and a memory. Two: a route that crosses into a restricted state carries the restricted-state exposure at the crossing — the product does not become exempt because it was lawfully purchased elsewhere, and no vendor, including ours, will publish a workaround because one does not exist; the legal alternatives post is the honest read for that situation.
