The freshness checks before any use
The pre-use read is a table, not a guess, and the shelf life post has the full version: date guidance within the printed window; seal intact and reseated firmly; appearance uniform as packaged (discoloration, softening, or sticking is a changed matrix); smell consistent with the flavor line (a changed smell is a changed matrix); and the batch record present — batch number on the pack, COA matched, per the batch check. The last row is the one that ties shelf life to the verification system: a pack you can match to its COA is a pack with a documented standard to hold to over time. Two rules of the table: an appearance check is necessary but not sufficient (a matrix can degrade chemically before it degrades visibly, which is why the date and the seal weigh as much as the eye test), and a pack that fails any row is set aside with the contact page open for the vendor’s position on a specific batch.
